The Safegard Group is proud to announce that Patricia Thompson and Amy Ruggerio have each earned an Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation.
“The ARM designation is a highly respected credential within the property & casualty insurance industry. Patty & Amy have further strengthened our firm with their dedication to professional development and technical knowledge. The ARM curriculum is rigorous and time consuming. Achieving the designation demonstrates their commitment to providing superior consultation and service to our clients,” said William Calderaro, President of The Safegard Group, Inc.
About the ARM Designation
The ARM curriculum consists of three rigorous courses focused on Risk Assessment & Treatment, Risk Management Principles & Practices, and Risk Financing. Each course requires an exam in addition to a separate ethics exam for program completion.
About Patricia Thompson
Patricia (Patty) Thompson joined The Safegard Group in Spring of 2015 as an Risk Control Account Services Assistant. In her role as Account Services Assistant, Patty was responsible for various reporting, planning, and customer service tasks for clients receive risk control services. Patty recently transitioned to the role of Commercial Lines Account Assistant where she is responsible for processing policy change requests, issuing certificates of insurance and Auto ID cards regularly, as well as updating coverage summaries, certificate holder lists, and other documents for renewal.
As a Temple University Fox School of Business graduate, Patty earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Patty participates in regular professional development courses to improve her insurance knowledge and further her career.
Patty is active in community service by partnering with the organization Move for Hunger to organize a local food drive in 2016. She was able to donate 238 meals to Philabundance as a result of her 2016 community service activity. Patty was recently voted as Philadelphia’s Finest for Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and currently serves as a committee member. She is also a committee member of the Young Friends of Penn Vet.
About Amy Ruggerio
Amy Ruggerio joined the Safegard Group in January of 2015 as a Commercial Lines Account Assistant. Prior to joining Safegard, Amy graduated in December of 2014 from Temple University with an undergraduate degree in Risk Management and Insurance. For three years, she studied the various aspects of Risk Management and Insurance such as Property and Casualty, Employee Benefits, and Healthcare Management.
Amy was recently promoted to a Commercial Lines Senior Account Assistant. As a Senior Account Assistant, Amy provides more technical insurance knowledge to her accounts and is responsible for processing policy change requests, issuing certificates of insurance and Auto ID cards, as well as updating coverage summaries, certificate holder lists, and other documents for renewal.
Outside of the office, Amy enjoys spending time with friends and family, volunteering, going to the beach, and playing volleyball.
