Leadership Changes
The Safegard Group, Inc. is excited to announce recent leadership changes at the firm. Scott Carroll has joined Bob Manley and Chris Missett as Partner. Bill Donato, former President and Chief Operating Officer, has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer, with Bill Calderaro assuming the role of President. Bob Donato will continue to provide valuable input and direction on all aspects of the company in his role as Company Chairman.

About Scott Carroll, Partner
Scott Carroll began his insurance career with The Safegard Group as an Account Executive in the Commercial Lines Department in 2001.
A graduate of Cornell University, Scott earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in his double major of Marketing and Business Management. He is a member of the Cornell University Alumni Admissions Counsel, Cornell University Real Estate Counsel and the Cornell Football Association.
Scott has also served in various capacities on the following organizations: General Building Contractors Association, Associated Builders & Contractors, International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses, and International Warehousing & Logistics Association.
About Bill Donato, Chief Executive Officer
Bill Donato, a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS), has been a partner of Safegard since 1997. Due to Bill’s international expertise and management consulting experience, he also provides expertise in the design of executive protection and professional liability coverages. Additionally, Bill specializes in the development of complex alternative risk financing solutions and chairs Safegard’s Executive Protection Department.
Since joining The Safegard Group in 1995, Bill has held a variety of positions. He served as account manager, head of the Claims and Risk Control Departments, Leader of the Commercial Lines Department, President and Chief Operating Officer before taking on the role of Chief Executive Officer.
Bill graduated summa cum laude from the Schreyer Honors College at Pennsylvania State University, receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance with a minor in Economics. He currently serves on the Board for the Schreyer Honors College and is heavily involved in recruitment. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for the St. Peter’s School.
About Bill Calderaro, President
Since joining The Safegard Group in 2007 as Executive Vice President, Bill Calderaro has served the firm in many capacities. In September 2017, he was appointed President. In addition to overall company leadership, he continues to manage and grow his client portfolio, utilizing twenty-four years of experience and technical knowledge. His areas of expertise include both Captive and Traditional Market placements with continued industry focus in technology, non-profit, professional services, and construction.
Bill has a B.A. from Villanova University and an Executive MBA from Temple University’s Fox School of Business. He is a licensed Pennsylvania Agent and Broker and carries a Management Liability Insurance Specialist (MLIS) designation. Outside of his professional life, Bill and his wife, Maria, reside in Bryn Mawr with their two daughters. He is a member of Overbrook Golf Club and is proud to have been a Big Brother for over a decade.
