On Wednesday, March 1 from 3:30pm to 7:30pm, The Safegard Group’s Brian Courtney will be speaking at a seminar titled “The School of Hard Knocks: Lessons Learned From Recent Data Breaches” hosted by the South Jersey Chapter of CFMA at Adelphia’s in Deptford, NJ.
Cyber is a business, and every business is cyber. In today’s hyper-connected world, cyber security goes to the very core of every business. The question is no longer if your organization will be attacked, but when, how and by whom. Small and medium size businesses not only face many of the same risks as larger organizations, but are often used as easily accessible gateways for attackers to breach their larger suppliers or partners.
At this seminar, Brian Courtney of The Safegard Group Inc. and Matthew Hahn of SWK Technologies, will uncover the painful truth about identity theft and data breach risks. The discussion will include the following areas:
- What creates cyber risks?
- Who regulates the cyber world?
- Cyber Exposures – First and Third Party Risks
- What is a data breach?
- The value of stolen data
- Trends in data breach costs
Attendees will learn about examples of actual data breaches, and most importantly – what risk management strategies can help reduce similar outcomes. After all, cyber attacks are no longer merely a tech problem. It is a business-wide issue.
This event will provide 2.0 CPE credits in the field of specialized knowledge and applications for CPA’s licensed in NJ and PA. This is a group – live course at the basic level. No prerequisites or advanced preparation is required.
